LAUNCH NURSERY & PRESCHOOL

The Nursery is often where a child begins his/her adventure at The Torch Worship Center. Volunteers minister to families by providing a warm and caring environment for children six weeks through age two. Each of our nurseries minister to a specific age group with appropriate developmental toys and activities.

Nursery ministry is unique in that we are privileged to celebrate the many milestones your child passes early in their development such as: a first tooth, first steps to walking, first words, etc. In the Nursery Pod children learn that God loves them and we do too!

The Preschool is an active place during each service, where 3-5 year old children experience hands-on activities to give them a variety of experiences so they can begin to lay spiritual foundations.

FUN is the key to the preschooler's heart, and FUN is what they get during their classroom  rotations. They sing, learn about God's love though Bible stories and object lessons, play, have snacks and make a craft to take home. Preschoolers love the volunteers, who provide a great place for them to feel good about coming to church!

Our nursery and preschool pod is located on the first floor, just pass the stairs and elevator. Workers will be available to check-in your child thirty minutes before each service on Wednesdays and Sundays. There is also care during the Sunday School hour.

Ten Hut Jr.
On Wednesday Nights we invite your preschooler to join the Help Corps as we march through the life of David. Your children will join Help Corp Recruit, Mardy, as he travels to new islands to help others! In Ten Hut Jr., your children will discover how they can live like the man after God's own heart.

Imagination Team
On Sunday mornings your preschooler is led in worship and Bible Study by our exciting new Imagination Team.  Our desire is to Ignite your child’s imagination as they learn about God.  Stop by and see our new Imagination Station (in the Harvest classroom).

FAQ'S (Frequently Asked Questions)

Do you have children at the Torch Worship Center?

Launch Nursery & Preschool is much more than childcare! During Sunday and Midweek services we offer a safe and secure place for infants and preschoolers. We value the opportunity to provide an environment where your child can learn about Jesus and His love for them.

When do children move up to the next nursery or classroom?

Infants and babies up to 36 months are grouped with children who are in the same developmental level (example: they move up to the next group when they begin walking or when they're potty trained). Preschoolers move up when they have their 3rd, 4th or 5th birthday.

Is there anything that children should not bring with them?

It is preferable that children do not bring food or toys into class with them. It is always best to suggest that things be left in the car or at home. That way there are no lost toys or important items.

Do you need volunteers?

Yes, we always have a need for volunteers. The more our church grows the more volunteers that we have a need for. We can always accomodate volunteers in all areas from our nursery up through our preschool classes.  If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please contact Christi Cooper, Nursery & Preschool Ministry Volunteers Coordinator, at cccooper@windstream.net
